1. Tell us a bit about yourself!
I am the Founder of The Jungle Body & an absolute Group Fitness addict. My life consists of running The Jungle Body; coordinating Workshops, assessing new Instructors, marketing our Programs, creating Choreography & managing all the business side of things! I work 7 days a week & basically live & breathe The Jungle Body because I love it so much. I still teach 2 classes a week to keep connected to the Programs & because I can’t imagine not teaching our Programs! In my spare time I love reading biographies, staying up to date with Politics & working with my husband!
2. What made you get into Dance/Fitness?
I spent 12 months working in the US in the health club industry which opened my eyes to Group Fitness. I fell in love with Programs like Zumba & Pilates but felt there was a gap in the market for something that had it all in one. So once I returned back to Australia I created The Jungle Body! I think Dance Fitness is one of the best ways to workout & get results, not many other workouts compare to the feeling of an amazing Dance Fitness class. Our KONGA Program has it all, Dance, Boxing, Pilates & Cardio – it gives me everything I want in a workout in one hour!
3. If you were not a Dance/Fitness Instructor, what would you have been?
An Economist. I studied Economics & Management always thinking that I would work in the field. It still blows me away to see where I am today! However, it’s that business background that has helped The Jungle Body prosper from the small city of Perth in Australia. I love what I do now & wouldn’t change it for the world.
4. Can you give our readers your favourite top health/fitness tip?
Be consistent! Being fit & healthy is a constant challenge & its not easy! You need to change your lifestyle so that eating healthy, taking care of you & staying fit is part of your week – each & every one. Put a priority on your wellbeing and all facets of your life will be better.
